Morning Thanks

Garrison Keillor once said we'd all be better off if we all started the day by giving thanks for just one thing. I'll try.

An August Morning in Siouxland

They're not new, but they could be. Just thought I'd look up some old photos of a Siouxland dawn, eleven years ago right about now, right about here. Whatever rural beauty they captured hasn't changed much.

Three weeks late, I think, although I don't keep track. Anyway, it's here now, and we've had it for four of the last five meals (and there's more!)--I'm talking about sweet corn, of course, the real reason people live in the upper Midwest (according to Garrison Keillor). This isn't. But it feels like a reminder.
