An August Morning in Siouxland


They're not new, but they could be. Just thought I'd look up some old photos of a Siouxland dawn, eleven years ago right about now, right about here. Whatever rural beauty they captured hasn't changed much. 












Three weeks late, I think, although I don't keep track. Anyway, it's here now, and we've had it for four of the last five meals (and there's more!)--I'm talking about sweet corn, of course, the real reason people live in the upper Midwest (according to Garrison Keillor). This isn't. But it feels like a reminder.
